Vodka is an alcoholic beverage consisting mainly of water and ethyl alcohol. In Europe, the first distillation of fermented sugar-containing liquid was made by the Italian monk - alchemist Valentius. According to some sources, a prototype of today's vodka was prepared as early as the ninth century by an Arab physician. It is consumed both pure and quite often found in cocktails.
